Organizing Hacks for Your Bathroom

It’s that time of year again! The time we look through our house and begin the process of purging, cleaning, and organizing. Often, we are looking to refresh our space and shake off the winter vibes. Especially after being stuck at home, in your space, throughout the cold burst of winter. But where to start?

Your bathroom is the perfect place to begin!

It is often a smaller space and one that we spend a good portion of our time in. Most of us begin and end our days here; from that rush of a warm shower with an uplifting peppermint soap that begins our day, to a long soak in the tub with a relaxing chamomile soap to wash our day away. By taking the time to organize and revamp your bathroom, you are investing in yourself and your routine.

Get rid of the clutter!

We often shove bottles of lotion and hair care products right along with the essential hoards of toilet paper under the sink. Over time, it just becomes an overwhelming space. Try adding baskets and under-the-sink shelves. Those things get stored in their designated spaces, allowing you to find what you are looking for quickly (and stopping you from over buying on products you already have, but can’t find).

I personally have a basket for all my hair styling tools: hairdryer, straightener, and curling irons. Always wind the cords around them before placing them back after use. This allows all styling tools to coexist in the basket without becoming tangled. I also have a basket under my sink that holds all of my everyday products. This includes dry shampoo, body lotions, hairbrush, deodorant, etc. Because these products are used every day, you want them accessible. You can also monitor when these products are running low, easily adding them to your shopping list.

All cosmetics and skincare products fit nicely in separate travel bags. Even if you are not a person that travels, keeping these products inside of zipped bags stops them from rolling around in the drawer and commingling. They store nicely in a pull out drawer, or under your sink (adding shelves give layers to your storage area), and allow you to always find what you are looking for. Digging for your mascara tube, rolling around in your drawer, is not always a pleasant way to start your day!

Place a basket on the side of your tub.

You can store all your self-care items within easy reach. I personally have bath bombs, body scrubs, face masks, and great smelling moisturizing soap on hand. A long soak in the tub can revive you, or prepare you, for a good night’s sleep. I can not recommend Sunshine Valley Soap Company enough!
