Spring Break Adventures
– It’s the break from school we’ve all been looking forward to. Whether you’re a student yourself, a teacher looking forward to a break, or a family ready to venture out of the busy chaos, Spring Break can bring in the rejuvenation you’re looking for. So what to do, where to go? The answer depends on the time of vacation experience you want to create.
Beach Getaways
If you’re looking for a beach get away, there are many options right here in the United States. Florida offers quite a few beachside locations, including Key West and Sanibel Island. Key West is located in the southern tip of Florida and brings a quaint island atmosphere, historic sites, and of course, its beautiful beaches. Sanibel Island gives off a laid-back vibe and is known for its wildlife refuges, and shell-strewn beaches. South Carolina is home to Myrtle Beach, a very popular family-friendly sandy beach, amusement parks, and a bustling boardwalk. North Carolina offers The Outer Banks, a string of barrier islands known for their natural beauty, beaches, and historic sites. California is home to the classic Santa Monica Beach, offering sandy shores, a vibrant atmosphere, and its iconic pier.
Snowy Adventures
Perhaps you prefer a snowbound adventure. Colorado usually comes to mind with its abundance of ski resorts: Aspen, Breckanridge, and Vail to name a few. All of these resorts offer fun activities for families and for those on a more solo mission. You can ski, snowboard, go tubing, or even take a snowmobile ride along their winding trails. Often the surrounding towns of these ski resorts offer restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques that add to your unique vacation experience. The locals are known to be friendly and you may end up striking up a conversation that leaves you feeling at home in these snowy wonderlands.
Staycations Are Fun, Too
Maybe a staycation is more your speed. You can pack a whole week with fun excursions that you and your whole family will enjoy. Look at what the big city has to offer like museums, zoos, aquariums, and amusement parks. Create a scavenger hunt, making your way around to all the historical sites in your area. Look for interactive experiences like escape rooms, trampoline parks, and pottery painting. Go to the movies, or simply set up a movie night at home, break out board games, or create a family puzzle night. Cooking together in the kitchen can be fun too. Oftentimes we get caught up in the busyness of it all and forget how important connections truly are.
Whatever you choose to do, make sure it’s an experience that creates memories. These are the times you’ll be able to look back on fondly, because you took the time to stop and just enjoy each other’s company. Remember to take lots of pictures and videos of your time together. Families grow and change, and you want to be able to look back and remember when.
